Frankland takes prime lamb title at Gisburn show and sale

Gisburn Auction Marts held its June Prime Lamb Show on last week which was well attended with more than 700 prime sheep forward.

Winning the overall championship was Richard Frankland, Rathmell, Settle with his pen of five Texel cross Beltex lambs, weighing 40kgs, they achieved ÂŁ94, selling to the pre-sale show judge Steve Seddon of Lake and Dales.

Auctioneer, Jonathan Turner said “With plenty of commercial buyers present spec weights sold well between 200p/kg and 220p/kg. Butchers type lambs to 235p/kg.”
