Freshly calved cow sells for 1550gns

A busy ringside witnessed a top price of 1550gns for a freshly calved, 2004-born cow at Sedgemoor last week.

 

This one was sold as part of the dispersal sale of E G Pockocks and Son’s non-recorded dairy herd from Perry Farm, Wiveliscombe.

 

At the next best money was another five year old cow that had calved in May, selling for 1520gns.

 

Served heifers due in December to a Limousin bull sold to 1100gns.

 

The 26 youngstock on offer were much sought after, with 17 month old, bulling heifers selling to 750gns, yearlings to 550gns and two-May born heifer calves making 480gns each.
