Full Chelford Texel and Beltex report
Further to the highlights snippet on Saturday, here is a full report from Saturday’s Texel and Beltex sale at Chelford.
Top call in the Texels went to the champion from the pre-sale show, a shearling ewe from Charlie Boden’s Mellor Vale flock, BCM09018. She is by Logie Durno Odds On and out of a dam by Glenside Legacy. This one was in lamb to Hen Gapel Royal Gold, a Millars Outstanding son. She sold to Henry Ashley, Lincolnshire.Next best in the Texels was a 1000gns bid for one from Gordon Gray’s Etttick entry. This was GGH09024, a Castlecairn 007 daughter out of a dam by Clynnogg Joe Tex. She was in-lamb to Mitchelhill Paparzzi. This one was bought by Messrs Robinson, Carnforth.
After that at 750gns was one from Idris Morris’ Fachell flock. This was MIF091233, a Pennan Miracle daughter out of a dam by Craighead Hercules. She was sold in lamb to Fachell Nutter and went to Robert Bradley for the Far Hey flock.
Selling at 500gns was the reserve champion from the pre-sale show, a ewe lamb from Alex and Gemma Brown’s Brookhill flock. She was by Fachell Ozzie and out of a dam by Stonefieldhill Keepsake and went to R G Blackburn, Penrith.
In the Beltex the best call was a 1300gns bid for the pre-sale champion from Allan Jackson. This was Headlind Nat, a daughter of the The Sub out of an imported dam and carrying twins. She sold to S and C Davies, Denbigh.
Next best was a brace of 1150gns calls for shearlings from the reduction of the Forglen flock of Peter Kenyon, Turriff. First to make this money was Forglen Nadine, an Ardstewat Lord Almighty daughter out of Forglen Lily Langtree. She was sold carrying a single to Woodies Phenomenal and was bought by 2010 Royal Highland Winter Fair winner Andrew Morton, Denny, Stirling.
The other to make this money was Forglen Nicolette, another by Lord Almighty and this time out of Puleston Kim. She was sold carrying a single to Phenomenal and also went to Mr Morton.
At 980gns was another Forglen shearling by Lord Almighty, Forglen Nadia. She is out of an imported dam and sold to John Mellin, Hull House. Then making 800gns was Forglen Nanette, another by Almighty and in lamb to Phenomenal. She went to Avril Evans, Raglan.
Selling at 760gns was a ewe lamb from Richard Wood, Biggar. This was Kingledores Peach, a Viagrow daughter out of an Artnagullion Kyle-sired dam and went to Tom Linton, Lanark.
