Good trade for Limousin at Welshpool joint sale

 

More confident spending on Limousin cattle produced a solid trade at Welshpool where three herds – Janos, Lowerffrydd and Glagwden – staged a joint sale and produced a top price of 8200gns.

 

The leading bid came for the bull Glangwden Goldmine from the Jerman family. He is by Woodhouse Custer and out of a Haltcliffe Ullswater dam and had a Beef Value of Lim+32. Buyer was M H Owen.

Corridan Voyage, a 2004-bred cow by Mas Du Clo, made 8000gns. She was offered with her heifer calf at foot by Bailea Vantage.

 

Staplegrove Livestock from Cullompton, Devon paid 5000gns for Corridan Chelsea from B C and J W Evans. By Goldies Terence, she was sold served to Dinmore Foreman. Her December-born heifer calf Corridan Galye – by Lowerffrydd Ahoy – made 6800gns to the same bidder.

 

The Sarkley herd owned by the Pennie family added the 2006-bred cow Lowerffrydd Belle – a Nenuphar daughter out of a Filip dam. She realised 7800gns. Her Vantage sired October 2011-bred heifer goes to Mr Evans, Shrewsbury at 4600gns.

 

Corridan Daniella, by the Sympa son Corridan Arkle, went to D Davies and Son, Crymych at 7000gns.Corridan Grandmaster – her 11-month-old son by Vantage – made 3700gns to G Hilsdon, South Molton, Devon.

 

Lowerffrydd Enjoyable (Beef Value Lim+37), a 2009-bred daughter of Objat and out of a Nenuphar dam, made 7500gns and her heifer calf by Vantage made 4500gns.

 

The Jerman family’s April 2011-bred Glangwden Gerry, a Woodhouse Custer son with a Beef Value of Lim+28, realised 7000gns to go to Cumbria with W Wilkinson.
