Great Yorkshire native beef title to Aberdeen-Angus

There was a turnover in the Native interbreed championship on the second day of the show when judge Finlay McGowan gave the top ticket to the Aberdeen-Angus champion, Messrs Whittaker Farms cow Rosemount Justine Erica, a 2002-born Heath House Plato daughter. Trojan of Craigeassie had to settle for reserve spot in that competition.

And the Aberdeen-Angus continued their winning run, claiming the interbreed team of four contest ahead of the Limousin team.

Junior team winners were the Limousins with the Herefords in reserve and the junior overall title went to David Cormack and Gaynor McDowell’s Limousin heifer Dynamite Ella, a Greenhill Viper daughter.

Standing reserve overall junior champion was J and S Ross’ Galloway heifer Daisy 971 of Romesbeoch, an October 2009-born Kirkmabreck Nimrod daughter.
