Bred by Garrowby Estates, he was champion steer at Leyburn, where he was purchased by the Keel’s of Thirsk, North Yorkshire.

Other wins include the champion title at Malton and reserve at Northumberland and Coco will be at numerous other shows this season, ending at the English Winter Fair.

Judge Gail Ellis said the tremendous quality of cattle forward made decisions difficult.

“The champion is evenly flushed from its shoulder, right the way to its tail, with a good meat to bone ratio, an excellent loin and a good inner and outer thigh,” she said.

Vodka Blur, a 13-month-old British Blue cross Limousin steer took the reserve prize for Gordan and Julie Sedgewick, Aycliffe, Co Durham.

Champion at the Penrith show and sale where he was purchased in March this year, He was also commercial champion at Northumberland and North Yorkshire and reserve champion at Otley.
