Hailsham fatstock show records smashed

Records were smashed at last week’s Hailsham Fatstock Show, East Sussex, when the champion beast sold for £8.50/kg or £4462.50. The champion a Limousin sired heifer from Jason and Sarah Wareham, Broad Oak, sold to Jamie Wickens on behalf of Winchelsea Farm Foods.

Mr Wickens then went on to pay a massive £1540/head or £22/kg for the show’s champion pigs, a pair of 70kg porkers from Plumpton College, Lewes, and £185/head or £3.52/kg for the champion lambs a 52.5kg pen of Texels from John Seales.
