Halls take RHWF sheep title
Top honours in the sheep lines went to John Hall and his brother Peter with a pair of Beltex cross lambs from their 2000-ewe flock based at
Their leading lambs are by a tup bred by Glen Forsyth and out of homebred Beltex cross ewes. They tipped the scales at 50.5kg apiece and were praised by the judge, Joe Greenhill, for their eveness of fleshing and excellent gigots.
Taking the reserve was another perennial primestock show prizewinner, Brian MacTaggart, Douganhill Farms, Dumfriesshire. This pair were by a homebred Texel tup out of 7/8
Champion hill lambs were a brace of South Country Cheviots from Andrew Reid which went across the scales at 42.75kg each.
