Hampshire cross lambs to £3.25/kg in Northern Ireland
Hampshire Down cross prime lambs sold to a peak of £3.25/kg at Raithfriland, Northern Ireland, with the championship pair from Lawson McKitterick selling for £130/head. These 40kg lambs sold to the day’s judge Jim Quail, Banbridge.
The reserve champions on the day, another pair of 40kg lambs sold to £114/head (£2.85/kg for Lee York, Fermanagh, these also sold to Mr Quail.
A pair of 40kg lambs from Mr McKitterick then sold at £110/head to Mr Quail and the same vendor’s pair of 41kg lambs made £108 to Oakdale Meats, Lurgan, while a 42kg pair from Mr York sold for £102/head to Mr Quail.
At £119 were a pair of 21kg lambs from Trevor Fegan, with the same vendor selling 43kg lambs at £107, both lots sold to Mr Quail.
