Hampshire Downs takes interbreed pairs title
Leading the way in the first of the interbreed sheep championships this morning under judge John Geldard of the Lake District, was the hampshire Down pair, a ewe lamb and ram lamb from Stirling Manson. Both lambs are by dunraven Fychlad out of homebred ewes. This pair were praised by the judge for being a correct pair with great style and presence in the ring as well as having great tops on them.
Taking the reserve championship was the Poll Dorsets. this pair consisted of a ram from TS Knox by Kildowey Noble and a ewe from Raymond Hill by Downkillybeg Hercules.
Also in his short lead from the 15 pairs on offer were the Border Leicesters, Blackies and Beltex.
