Hawes Swaledales reach £2000

Highest price in the Swaledale ewes on offer at Hawes last weekend was a £2000 bid for one from the Skidmore family, North Hanging Wells. This shearling ewe, which stood fourth in the pre-sale show sold to R Metcalfe.

Selling at £1800 was the second price shearling and reserve champion on the day from P E and K A Sowerby. She sold to J H and J Bland. And then making £1700 was the first prize shearling and champion from the day from R A Sowerby. This one was bought by F Brennand. Top price in the ewes was a £1000 sale for one from P E and K A Sowerby.
