VMD issues bovine mastitis treatment product recall

A product defect recall has been issued for an antibiotic cream used to treat bovine mastitis.

This concerns Synulox lactating cow intramammary suspension – Vm 42058/4143 – manufactured by Zoetis UK.

The Veterinary Medicines Directorate said batches of this product are being recalled from the market with immediate effect to the end-user (farm) level.

It follows a recent Good Manufacturing Practice inspection of one of the active pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturers for Synulox.

This issue affects the following batches that have been placed on the UK market:
