Herefords reach 3200gns at Dungannon

A small show of quality Hereford bulls were on offer at the Native Breeds Show and Sale at Dungannon on the 21 April.

Top price of the day went to John and William McMordie, Ballygowan with their 17 month old Solpoll 1 Editor who sold for 3200gns. Editor was sired by Panmure 1 Alexander, who also sired the Female Champion at the January Sale which sold for a record price. 

 

After spirited bidding, Editor was knocked down to W D McCabe, Crumlin, for use in his suckler herd.

The championship and second highest price went to Glenside Super, bred by Charlie and Raymond Pogue, Benburb. This 20 month old son of Blackwater Boxer sold for 2600gns to Bill Henry, Cookstown.

Magheraknock 1 Destroyer was the winner of the senior bull class for David Smyth, Ballynahinch. This 23 month old son of Masefield 1 Warlock sold for 1700gns.
