Herefords reach 5500gns top at Hereford

Selling in their home market, last week’s sale of Herefords topped at 5500gns for the reserve champion from the pre-sale show, Fisher 1 Ensign from W J Hutchings and Son.

Sired by Costhorpe 1 Top Gun and out of Fisher 1 Clover, a Kilmorlie 1 Banker daughter, he sold with a TSI of +26 and an SRI of +31.

Following that at 5000gns was Dendor 1 Flinder from Messrs Jones, Welshpool. This is by Australian sire Yalgoo Boulder and out of Plantagenet 1 Arabis and has a TSI of +23 and an SRI of +28.

Next best was the pre-sale champion, Panmure 1 Fred from Messrs Cant, Arbroath, this is a Sollpoll 1 Brigadier son out of Panmure 1 Plum and has a TSI of +19 and an SRI of +21.

At 3800gns was Bosa 1 Flintoff, a Sollpoll 1 Boomerang son out of Derryswood 1 Abby. This one, from G Blandford, sold with a TSI of +34 and an SRI of +41.

Topping the females was a 3000gns call for Barwise 1 Ann Joliena, a Barwise 1 Wellington daughter, out of Barwise 1 Anitras Dance from Carolyn Fletcher.
