Holstein takes Balmoral Show dairy title

Winning the dairy interbreed at Balmoral this morning was the Holstein champion, third calved cow Ballyginniff Jasper Whiterose from John Patterson and Sons. This one, classified VG89 is by Wilcoxview Jasper and is out of Ballginniff Leduc Whiterose. She gave just over 10,000kg in her second lactation and is currently giving 58kg a day having calved eight weeks ago.

RUS DAIRY INTERBREED CHAMP 1.jpgStanding reserve overall was the Jersey champion Potterswalls Juno Glamour from the Fleming family. This third calver is by Potterswall Lord Juno and out of Brenwood Top Prize Glamour. She gave 7000kg last lactation at 5.7% butterfat and 4.3% protein. Calved in December she was reserve Jersey champion here last year and classified VG92 at two weeks calved.RUS DAIRY INTERBREED RES 1.jpg 

Taking the reserve Holstein title was Sam McCormick  with fourth calving cow Hilltara Jordan Tury, an Ex93 classified daughter of Roylane Jordan out of Hilltara Leduc Tury. While reserve in the Jerseys was Potterswalls Iatola Lady, an S C Gold Dust Paramount Iatola daughter out of Potterswalls Jades Blady.

Winning the Ayrshires was John Suffern with Ravenhill Ethel 395, a VG86 classified daughter of Woodland View Pardner out of Ravenhill Ethel 290.RUS AYRSHIRE CHAMP.jpg Reserve was John Suffern again, this time with Ravenhill Ethel 424, a Ravenhill Tridents Boy daughter out of Ravenhill Ethel 245.
