Holstein takes Dairy Event and Livestock Show interbreed title

The interbreed championship has now been decided here at the Dairy Event and Livestock Show at the NEC, Birmingham and taking the championship was the Holstein leader, Saxelby Goldwyn Rose, a thirc calved cow from Robert and Elaine Butterfield. This one, which gave more than 12,000 litres in her second milking is currently giving 48 litres a day and was interbreed champion at this year’s Great Yorkshire.overall.jpgReserve overall today was another of the major show winners from this year’s summer, Ayrshire cow Sandyford Clover 10, from Blaise Tomlinson. This one, also giving 48 litres a day is a sixth calver which gave 11,500 litres in her fifth lactation. She was interbreed champion at the Royal Welsh earlier in the summer.reserve.jpg
