The Holstein in-milk heifer champion, Berryholme Golden Flo from the Wright family, Francis, Anne and son, David, has just taken the interbreed heifer championship here at the NEC.692011 Holstein Heifer Champ.JPGThis Goldwyn daughter calved in February and is currently giving 36kg a day. She has had one previous outing, standing heifer champion at Cartmel Show. Her back line is full of breeding, with her maternal sister being National Holstein champion last year and her dam national Holstein Show champion in 2003. She is one of 110 milkers in the Berryholme herd.

Standing reserve was the Ayrshire heifer in-milk leader from Chris and Lisa Window. This one, Hunnington Fragrance 55 was led in the ring by Lisa’s husband Paul Walker and is a daughter of Castern Tornado.692011 Ayshire Heifer Champ.JPGShe is calved four months and has previously been interbreed heifer champion at Nantwhich and Oswestry. The exact same placings were repeated in the exhibitor bred championship, although it was a close call in the main championship, with the Ayrshire and the Jersey both collecting a total of 42 points from the panel of judges. However, the Ayrshire claimed reserve spot on the basis of earning more full mark 10s from the judges.
