Holsworthy dairy sell to £2000
The fortnightly special sale of dairycattle at Holsworthy Market last Wednesday topped at £2000 for Terry Cox ofShaftsbury, Dorset, when he sold Holmead Milkman Viola a daughter of homebredsire Holmead Milkman.
A smart consignment of heifersfrom Treginegar Dairy Farm of Padstow sold to £1950 for Arcedia Monogram Lyn 2a granddaughter of Picston Shottle. The same vendors also sold TreginegarMelody Diane, a Moet Melody Daughter to £1820.
Messrs A F and S G Loud ofLewdown who are dispersing their herd as they calve sold another greatconsignment of cattle to a strong demand topping at £1880 for Combebow Doble 5,a second calver by Chatter T Red. Others from the same home sold to £1820 and£1800.
And a consignment of 21exceptionally well bred youngstock from Mike and Jo Wade’s Loford, herd, Bidefordsold well to a top of £1850 for Loford GB Marci 29 a February 2010 born daughterof Loford Glory Boy out of five generations of VG or EX dams. Going back toHenkeseen Mark Marci EX94, she sold to Messrs Hussell for their Perrins herd.
Top of the served heifers was”Loford Shottle Caye 8″ a cracking heifer by Picston Shottle out of a VG87Stormatic dam and tracing back to two EX94 cows from Windemere. She sold for£1600 to David Grigg’s Ventonian herd.
