Ile De France reach 500gns at Dungannon

Friday’s sale of Ile De France sheep at Dungannon attracted a strong demand, according to the Northern Irish Breeders club.

Top price on the day was a 500gns call for the champion from the pre-sale show, a shearling tup by Turnaleary Dollar from Trevor Boyd. Taking this one home was William Hutchinson, Kilkenny, the judge from this year’s Balmoral Show.

Also at this money was the females and reserve overall champion from the pre-sale show,  a shearling ewe from David Mulligan’s Glenhoy flock. This one is by the breed’s highest indexed sire Glenhoy Conqueror.

Mr Boyd then topped the ram lambs too, with a 420gns sale for the first prize lamb from the pre-sale show. By Glenhoy His Highness, this one joined Messrs Porter and Hyndman’s Sperrinview flock.
