Isliplodge Holsteins reach 2300gns

A top call of 2300gns was the highlight of the dispersal of the Isliplodge herd of Holsteins for the Holmes family at Kettering, Northamptonshire.

Topping the trade was a second calver by Ridgestar Jammer, Isliplodge Jammer Carol which gave 9158kg as a heifer and sold to B L and K M Sercombe, Lutterworth.

Next best also went to the same buyers, with 2250gns paid for another by the same sire. This September calved heifer still giving 33.7kg a day is due in October to Lakemead Rancher and is out of a 12,575kg dam.

Selling at 2200gns was Isliplodge Jammer Rainbow, an October calved heifer due again in December. She was also sold giving 33.7kg a day and is off an 11,411kg dam.

Another by Jammer then made 2050gns, when selling to J and N Biddle, Berkeley. Panda 2 is a September calved heifer due again this September to Lakemead Rancher.

In-calf heifers sold to 1750gns twice, with both being Tittenser Hylke daughters which sold to J and S Elliot, Coventry, due in September to Lakemead Alphonso.

Averages; 66 cows and calved heifers ÂŁ1733.30, (including 28 heifer calves at ÂŁ608.25), 10 in-calf heifers ÂŁ1741.95, 2 bulling heifers ÂŁ798.00 (Gwilym Richards).
