Izabella secures 7,500gns top call at Newark

The virtual dispersal of the Ridge Dean herd of British Blues for Michelle Wilde at Newark saw a top call of 7,500gns.
The bid came for the September 2013 born Ridge Dean Izabella, a Boothlow Dynamo daughter out of Ridge Dean Della who is an Empire D’Ochain daughter. She sold to CB Parsons, Sutton-On-Trent, Nottinghamshire.
A call of 6,000gns secured the herd’s noted brood cow Ridge Dean Della, herself the dam of the 7,500gns Izabella. This Empire daughter is out of Ridge Dean Valentine and is due in November to Cromwell Fendt. Buyers were Tim and Kitty Bodily, Abergavenny.
Also at 6,000gns was Ridge Dean Groovey, a 2011-born Boherard Cantona daughter. She goes to Messrs Parsons, Sutton-On-Trent.
Her dam, Ridge Dean Delight, made 5,700gns. She is by Ballygrange Alex and sold with a heifer calf at foot by Dictator. Buyers were Swindells Livestock, Brant Broughton, Lincolnshire.
The young bull calf Ridge Dean Justino made 5,000gns. This March-born son of Boothlow Dynamo sold to K Allen, Cattleton, Derbyshire.
The first of four 4500gns bids came for Ridge Dean Florence 2, a Blue Stone Union Jack daughter going to Brian Joseph, Church Stretton, Shropshire.
The day also saw the East Midlands and North Wales and Mid-West Limousin Club fixture where bidding reached 6,200gns for the 2010-born cow Millstone Fragrance.
Consigned by John Oakes, Stoke she is by Wilodge Vantastic and out of a Nelombo dam and was sold with her Rocky-sired bull calf. Buyer was D Townend, Malton.
A 4,000gns call secured Pasturefields Iamtheone from the Birch Family, Stafford. This 2013-bred Anside Flint daughter goes to the Gascoines Group, Newark.
Cresswell Emma from Staffordshire breeder Anthony Sayer made 3,500gns. This 2009-born Sympa cow is out of a Jockey daughter and was sold with a bull calf by Wilodge Tonka to Gary Sharp, Essex.
At 3,200gns the Ampertaine Bravo daughter Calogale Hazel from G Lee and C M Lloyd, Kidwelly went to Messrs Woodward, Norwich.
The female champion Willowvale Hannah from Anthony Sayer Jnr made 2800gns. By Rocky, she was bought by show judge Berwyn Hughes (Lampeter) for his Cwmlimo Herd.
John Oakes sold Millstone Honey at 2,600gns to north Yorkshire buyers C and S Creaser. She is by Mas Du Clo and was in-calf to WilodgeTonka.
Bulls topped at 3000gns for Netherhall Chancer from W J and M Mash, Chesham, Buckinghamshire. This 2007-born son of Rocky sold to Messrs Holling, Alfreton, Derbyshire for their Twilyte Herd.
Ridge Dean averages: five cows £4436.25, five cows with calves £3906, 10 maiden heifers £4242, embryo calves £3402, five recipient dams £868.
Limousin averages: 12 bulls £2,432; eight cows and calves £2,336; 14 in-calf heifers £2,231 and 39 Maiden Heifers £1,347.
