Kinnudie Holstein dispersal tops at 3400gns

The dispersal of the Kinnudie herd of pedigree Holstein cattle at Borderway Mart, Carlisle last week saw trade peak at 3400gns for the december 2004 born Mayne Prelude Arabella.

Sired by Ronnybrook Prelude and out of Mayne Adam Arabella, she sold dry and in calf to Moray Lightning to D E Wilson, Calthwaite, Penrith.

Next highest price was the homebred Kinnudie Iris 27, a July 2005 daughter of Moet Lookout out of Kinnudie Iris 23 who sold for 2200gns to F Awde, Penrith, Cumbria.

Averages: 150 cows and heifers in milk/in calf £1279.82; 39 in calf and served heifers £1257.31; 39 bulling and maiden heifers £861.81; 51 heifer calves £454.48 (Harrison and Hetherington).
