Knightwood dairy sale hits 2700gns twice
The two-day sale to disperse the Knightwood herd of Holsteins saw a total of 91 buyers recorded, with 69 lots selling at £2000 or more.
Selling for the sale’s top price was November calver Castleashby Bradley Tarragon, a VG86 classified cow, with this price also taken by Barrick Tarragon, a fresh calved second calver.
The Orchid family were in strong demand selling to 2650gns for a Roylane Jordan sired second calver and a VG85 second calver Drake Orchid also sold for 2650gns.
Milton Iris, a VG86 November calver then sold for 2600gns, with Bradley Monogram Outside Lobelia and Affirmed Monogram all selling for 2500gns.
Incalf heifers sold to 2,000gns twice for ‘Castleashby Buckeye Cinnamon 2nd’ due September to ‘Topshot’ and ‘Castleashby Samuelo Mayflower 3rd’ due November to ‘Topshot’.
Averages; 351 cows and heifers (including A lots) £1597, 54 in-calf heifers £1477, 20 served heifers £1220, 47 bulling heifers £855, 57 yearling and younger heifers £713, 62 heifer calves £474 (Greenslade Taylor Hunt).
