Lanark Texels to 2800gns

A selective trade saw buyers carefully sorting through the entry of in-lamb Texel females at Lanark but the best sold well and bidding reached 2800gns for a ewe from the Clinterty flock sired by Clinterty Par One. Consigned by Brian Buchan and in-lamb to Knock Tarquin, she heads for Donegal with buyer J Magee.

A 2009-bred ewe by Kelso Oxygen, part of a major reduction from Moray-based breeders Messrs Scott’s Drumpark flock, made 1900gns. Claimed by N Woodmass, Carlisle, she was in-lamb to Kelso Serberus. Another 1900gns call from Alistair Beaton, Falkirk secured a ewe lamb from the Drumpark offering. The lamb was also by Serberus.

Heading for Co Antrim with buyer Steve McCollam was a gimmer by Glenside Razzle Dazzle consigned from the Deveronvale flock of Graham Morrison. She was in-lamb to Strathbogie Terminator.

Averages: Drumpark – six gimmers £203; 14 ewe lambs £537 and three ewes £1732. Main sale – 51 gimmers £551 and four ewe lambs £241.
