Lancaster dairy sale tops £3,150
The final dairy show and sale at NWA Lancaster saw a yard full of cattle attract a large crowd of buyers from the Northern Counties and the Midlands. The strength and quality of the catalogue saw several new customers in attendance.
The championship rosette was awarded to the first prize halter led heifer Stardale Recount Stella from J Burrow and Son. She sold for a final bid of £2,750 to A Smith, Leicestershire, giving 32litres.
The reserve champion was awarded to Pennine Nancy Lass 171 from Messrs Drinkall Bros, which later sold for the sales top price of £3,150. First prize non halter led heifer Lordsplain Steady Beryl 2 from FG and MR Martin reached a closing bid of £2,920.
