Leyburn Limousins reach 2400gns top

Limousin trade hit a peak of 2400gns at Leyburn on Friday when the reserve overall champion, a Sympa son from Margaret Suddes Farming sold to Aberdeenshire producer John McIrvine.

The sale leader, Towdypotts Crisp is out of Cornsay Ursule, which is a Papin daugher out of imported cow Roquepine.

At 2300gns was Oddacres Checkmate from Andrew and Claire Mason, Embsay. Checkmate is by Titan and out of Tempete. He sold to Paul Muir, Westerdale.

Then at 2000gns was an unregistered entry from Simon Priestley, Bradford. By Gunner fleet Unbeatable, this one is out of Prietec Upity, a Brontemoor Rio daughter and went home with T W Thompson, Richmond.

In the females the top call of 1800gns went to a cow and calf from W Burn, Seamer. This one was Newstart Avaline a Ronick Gains daughter out of Preselhill Rosalin and sold to J A and D A Horn, Billingham. Meanwhile, the overall champion from the pre-sale show, Carpley Green Cornflake from Chris Cloughton, Bainbridge, sold for 1740gns to Geoff Verity, Masham. This one is by Oxygene and out of Carpley Green Ultrabright, a Gunnerfleet Lotus daughter.

Then at 1560gns was the next best in the cows and calves, Cornsay Umbrella from Margaret Suddes Farming, Tow Law. She is by O’Maley and out of Rioka and also sold to Messrs Horn.
