Limousin cross steer takes Aberdeen title

Farmers from New Aberdour lifted the top honours in Aberdeen and Northern Marts’ summer show and sale of store cattle and weaned calves on Friday.

Messrs Smith were the buyers of the animal they chose as overall champion – a 580kg 22-month-old Limousin cross steer from A S and M Greig, Killyquharn, New Aberdour – and they paid £900.

The reserve championship was won by Brian Buchan, Clinterty, New Aberdour with a 400kg 12-month-old Charolais cross steer which fetched £610 to Blair Duffton, Bogie Street, Huntly.The full prize list
