Limousin females hit 2700gns at Carlisle
A strong turnout of unhaltered females – and a quality draft of heifers from the Chatsworth herd – produced a lively trade at the British Limousin Cattle Society’s autumn female sale at Borderway Mart where prices reached 2700gns for a maiden heifer by Proctors Trooper.

Best of the herd’s in-calf heifers was Chatsworth Bluebell taken at 2500gns by Breconside Farming, Moffat, Dumfriesshire. By the Kype Orkney son Bolsterstone Superior and out of a Loosebeare Jupiter dam, she has a Beef Value of +30 and was in-calf to Mynach Buster.
Another Trooper daughter – Chatsworth Blondie – made 2400gns to A and R Maxwell, Driffield, east
Andrew Ewing from Annan, Dumfriesshire gave most in the collective section paying 2400gns for Bowers Rosetta. This 2000-bred cow by Greensons Gigolo is out of a Broadmeadows Cannon dam and was sold suckling a July-born heifer calf by Pacha.
