Limousins dominate Great Yorkshire commercial beef

In the commercial cattle classes here at Harrogate the championship was won by Lincolnshire-based Trevor and Jonathan Lyon with their 646kg Limousin cross steer. This one was bought from Carlisle Mart last September as a calf for £1000 and has previously been reserve steer champion at Lincoln Show, he now heads on to Bakewell and a few other local shows at home.TS GY Comm Champ.jpg

This one was bred in Eire and purchased at last year’s Irish Winter Fair for E6000. She tipped the scales at 614kg and is unbeaten in her class this year, she now heads to the Royal Welsh next week.
