Limousins to 3,800gns at Elite Hilltown Mart sale

There was standing room only as a massive crowd descended upon Hilltown Mart for the Elite Limousin Sale staged on behalf of the Lynderg, Fedneyhouse and Carmorn herds.

Hitting the headlines at 3,800gns was the super Fedneyhouse Fiona presented by John and Margery Adams, Banbridge. This August 2010 born entry is sired by Ulm and out of the noted brood cow Lumbylaw Nellie. She is full sister to Fedneyhouse Crystal who was reserve overall and junior champion at Balmoral in 2008. The purchaser was Robert Sterritt, Jerretspass.

Carmorn Glossy was one of a choice selection from Charles and Francis McAuley, Toomebridge, and was snapped up by Messrs O’Reilley, Keady. This quality yearling heifer is sired by Ampertaine Eliminator and traces back to the mighty Carmorn Holly on the dams side. She is maternal brother to Carmorn Cantona who is stock bull at Frewstown Limousins.

It was back to Fedneyhouse when a pair of heifers was sold on choice. Fedneyhouse Fifi was selected by Robert Sterritt as his pick on the day, and was knocked down at 3,000 guineas. This is a full sister to Fedneyhouse Fiona who was bought by Mr Sterritt earlier in the sale.

Auctioneer Mark Stewart quickly worked his way through the catalogue with a virtual clearance recorded.
