Barenbrug varieties figure highly in SAC ryegrass tables

The Scottish Agricultural College recommendations, Grass and Clover varieties for Scotland 2008-9, confirm success of the Barenbrug/AFBI perennial ryegrass breeding programme.
Kilrea and Donard are top of the list of early-heading varieties in the perennial ryegrass table, with Kilrea combining high yields with excellent quality throughout the cutting and grazing season.
Malone and Dunluce are two of the highest intermediate-heading tetraploids. “Malone’s consistent results make it an ideal selection for any long-term cutting and grazing mixture,” says Barenbrug’s David Long.
