Livestock market prices data now live on LAA website

Farmers keen to stay abreast of the latest livestock price reporting must now visit a new website to subscribe to data previously available through the AHDB.
Liveweight markets data have transferred to the Livestock Auctioneers Association (LAA), going live on 1 January.
The LAA claims the platform delivers all of the previous AHDB services with improved data quality and reporting efficiency. Premium reporting packages are also available by subscription.

Subscription plans
- Weekly Prices – free
The Weekly Prices plan provides users with a weekly round-up of live store and finished prices across England and Wales, based on the previous week’s prices, plus a two-week look back.
- Daily Prices – free of charge to mart customers (sellers and buyers), or £4.99/month
The Daily Prices plan is free of charge to livestock market users. This provides an equivalent service to the one it replaces, with essential daily livestock prices updated every lunchtime, alongside the data provided within the weekly subscription plan. Users can compare by region and country, with a monthly look back.
- Real-Time Prices – £10.99/month
This new premium service provides real-time trade updates and livestock insights, along with everything in the daily and weekly plans. As soon as a member market completes and submits a sale, the report will appear on the platform.
A new feature is the inclusion of breeding prices, on top of store and finished prices, enabling users to gain insights on breeding categories for sheep and cattle. Full comparison facilities are available, enabling the options to compare from market to market, as well as by region and country, with a 12-month look back.
- Enterprise – price on application
The most advanced service is aimed at large-scale processors and livestock businesses requiring all data available via the real-time subscription plan, but with additional access. Enterprise is a bespoke service enabling multi-user access. It provides the functionality to download data straight into client systems, with unlimited access to historical sales price data.
Free trial
Farmers and industry stakeholders have until 31 March to sign up for a three-month trial of the Real-Time Prices package.
LAA executive secretary Chris Dodds said the subscription plans would enable users to select a package that gave the level of insight and information they required.
“We recognise the importance of this vital tool, and the need to support the wider agricultural industry, through the provision of the most up-to-date and accurate data, to enable informed decision-making,” he said.
