Lleyns and Ruby Reds in demand in Devon

The livestock dispersal for Nympton Park Estate, Devon, earlier this week saw 123 Devon cattle and 890 Lleyn sheep go under the hammer to a strong trade, report Kivells.

Topping the cattle on offer was a £2100 sale for seven year old cow Heywood Violet Rose, sold in-calf. Next best was Burwood Coins 59 at £1860.

Leading the sheep trade was a pen of shearling ewes at £142, with two lamb ewes selling for up to £140. Top call among  the ewe lambs was a £70 bid.
