Lleyns sought after at Carmarthen
Lleyns were once again in demand at last week’s breed sale at Carmarthen, with both males and females drawing the bids.
Topping the rams was a 1000gns bid for a shearling tup from Emrys and Dylan Jones, with this one, by a Derek Steen bred sire, selling to Mr Williams.
In the females the best price of the day was a ÂŁ260 sale for the first prize pen of shearling ewes from Lionel Organ, Llangeler. These were knocked down to T Healy, Cardigan.
A pen from Emrys and Dylan Jones then topped the ewe lambs, selling at ÂŁ150 to J and R Twose and Sons, Whitland.
Averages; ewes ÂŁ124.48, shearling ewes ÂŁ156.91, ewe lambs ÂŁ97.45, rams ÂŁ393.75 (BJP Marts)
