Loosebeare Texel lambs sell privately
Devon-based Texel breeder Paul Quick is celebrating after selling three ram lambs from one ET flush in recent weeks.
The lambs, all by Knock Orion are out of a dam by Summerwood Grand Union, sire of 120,000gns Loosebeare Imp, and were the result of a flush which Mr Quick undertook having judged Orion at Great Yorkshire Show last year.
First to sell was a lamb bought by John and Sarah Williams for the Honeyhill flock, Huntingdon. This one, Loosebeare Star Striker, was bought for ÂŁ7000.
The second ram lamb was sold in a two way split to the Douganhill flock managed by Brian MacTaggart and the Durisdeer flock of Robert and Jill Osborne, both Dumfries and Galloway. This one, Loosebeare Super Scot, was sold for an undisclosed price described as being substantially more than the ÂŁ7000 paid for Star Striker.
The final lamb in the trio sold was bought by J R Robinson for ÂŁ2000.
