Millgate Dollar sells at 6000gns
Millgate Dollar, a Haltcliffe Underwriter son which won his class yesterday has just sold at 6000gns, this one is out of Millgate Biddy, a Hawk daughter and has a beef value of +39. He was taken by Paul Gentry on behalf of Gascoign Farming, Nottinghamshire.
Then came the “class of death” Class 21, first up was Ironstone Dec from the Smiths of Bloxham team, this son of Ironstone Bomber, a former Carlisle champion, is out of Tweedside Selma and has a beef value of +41. He sold at 4200gns.
Next up in the money in this class was third prize bull Ironstone Diego, this is by Vantastic and out of Bailea Umelia, a 22,000gns dam. With a beef value of +38 he’d been taking the glances from a number of pedigree and show calf breeders and sold at 17,000gns to Mr Bell, Lockerbie.
After that came the heavily hyped Gorrycarm Diarra from David Kenwell. This son of Sympa is out of Honeylodge Ava, a Lord daughter and he sold with a beef value of +36 for 18,000gns to the breeds big spenders Smiths of Bloxham, an interesting choice for a new herd sire at Ironstone.
Then came another from Robert Graham, the much admired Grahams Dublin. This second prize bull is by Millington Vascular and out of Burnbank Adele, a Grahams Tycoon daughter, he sold with a beef value of +36 and made 26,000gns when selling to Messrs Jenkinson, Whinfell Park.
