Monday’s Welsh Winter Fair results
The first day of the Welsh Winter Fair at Builth Wells saw judging completed in several sections, with a number of exhibitors clinching the coveted championship rossettes.
Leading the way among the lamb carcasses was Adrian Windsor, with a pair of Texel x Texel cross E3L carcasses which weighed in at 36.5kg the pair.
The Royal Smithfield Club beef ribs competition was won by T A Hughes,Lampeter, with a rib from a Limousin X British Blue X Welsh Black Steer which weighed 345kg deadweight.
In the pig classes the pairs championship was taken by Owen and Joyce Gerallt Welsh pigs at 80.5kg and 79kg live.
The single pig title was taken by Gerallt’s too, with another Welsh pig which weighed 79kg.
Back in the lamb carcass classes the championship ticket went toRichard Eirwyn with a Beltex lamb which tipped the scales at 37.5kg liveweitght and 20kg deadweight and graded E2.
