Here are some more sale results and pictures from last week’s Dungannon Texel sale, which was led by a 28,000gns bid.

Second top was a 16,000gns call for another lamb bred exactly the same way as the 28,000gns lamb. By Douganhill McFly and out of a ewe by Knock Impulse, Cherryvale Nijinsky was bred by Alistair Gault’s son and daughter Beth and Jack. He sold to John Currie, Danny McKay and Austin Shaw.

Filling up third slot on the price call was a lamb from the Castleknowe flock of Leslie and Karen Beacom, Ballywater.

This one, Castleknowe Notorious, is by Blackstown Linesman and out of a Stonefield Grand Champion sired dam made 5600gns when selling to Geoffrey Fleck, Ballymena and Nigel Hammill, Crumlin.

The next two highest prices went to Roger Strawbridge’s Tamnamoney flock. The first of these was a 5400gns bid from an Isle of Man buyer for Tamnamoney Navvy, also by Douganhill McFly.

Next was Tamnamoney Ned, again by McFly and out of a Knock Impulse daughter, sold for 5200gns to Adrian McCartney, Alan Thompson and Simpson and Calvin.

With auctions suspended on the mainland, a full ringside has been a rare sight in recent weeks, but buyers packed the Dungannon salering and weren’t disappointed with a ram lamb trade that averaged £966.

Dungannon Farmers Mart auctioneer Trevor Wyllie took the bids from potential purchasers.

Straw is expensive in the province, so these two took full advantage of the opportunity to take a lie down on it.

Eyes right….These two shearlings head away from the sale after a strong trade saw 90 level at £465.
