More Royal Highland Show cattle results
Judging has continued in the beef rings this afternoon, with a number of breeds coming under the judges scrutiny.
In the Aberdeen Angus classes it was a win for the McLaren family, Netherton, with their cow Netherton Fleur, taking the female and overall breed championship. Standing reserve was the reserve female champion Blelack Blackbird from the Massie family.In the Galloways it was a win for Dennis Gall, with his cow Silverbell 3 of Gall-Way. This is by Blackcraig Krypton and out of Silverbell 12 of Corrie. Reserve was J C Thompson with his bull Nancyboy, he is a Kirkstead Nancyboy son out of Kirkstead Nancy.
Across in the British Blues Kevin Watret took the top two tickets withhis female and reserve female champions. Taking the overallchampionship was Solwayview Black Beauty, a Gitan Du P’ Tit Mayeurdaughter out of Broomfield Viview. In reserve was Solwayview Drambiue, an Empire D’Ochain daughter out of the same dam.
Thenin the commercial cattle it was a win for Stuart Bett and Craig Malonewith their Roncik Hawk sired heifer Miss Dynamite bred by T Laird andSon. In reserve was James Nisbet with his heifer Little Boots, a Silex daughter bred by Hugh and Lynn Dunlop.
TheBelted Galloway champion was won by John Corrie with Park Ramses, anOctober 2008-born bull by Polbae Geronimo and out of Park Aida. Reserve was Jennifer Taylor with Tobergill Katy, a Mochrum Laird daughter out of Tobergill Heidi.
Salers champion was Rob Livesey with Cleuchhead Yorkie, a Valenttin son out of Cleuchhead Mhairi 3. Reserve here was Mr Livesey again with Cleuchhead Marie 9, a Beeston Hall Nero daughter out of Cleuchhead Mairi 6.
