National All Breeds Show 2010 – Junior Championships
The first champion at this year’s National All Breeds Show, Stoneleigh is Iwan Morgan’s homebred
After being awarded Champion in the Holstein Senior Calf class for animals born between 1 January and 31 March 2009, Holstein judge, Edward Griffiths, praised the heifer for being ‘everything that you need in the breed – a complete calf’ and awarded her the overall title.
“We have seen a great selection of calves this morning, but in the end I went for an animal with strength in the spine and clean legs,” he said.
Roxie is by Ladino Park Talent and out of the first red, Excellent second calver Corringham Bob Roxy Red. Today’s win follows previous success at the South Wales Show where she was awarded Champion Calf last Autumn.

In Reserve was Willsbro Sho Rachel from Wills Brothers, Pawton Dairy, Wadebridge. She is by Picston Shottle and out of Willsbro Talent Rachel Red.
Taking the title in the Jersey Championship was Grayridge Comerica Vivacious, owned by A & D Mackellar, Lower Farm, Drointon.
Shown and bred by David Gray, this one is by Bridon Remake Comerica and out of Paullyn Duaiseoir
After calving next month, it is hoped the heifer will be appearing at Stafford Show later in the year.
In reserve place was an entry from
Rapidbay-UK Jazzman Lets Dance, is by Rapid Bay Jazzman and out of Rapidbay-UK Lets Dance.
Among the Shorthorns, judge Seimon Thomas, awarded the title to his champion maiden heifer, Marleycote Fleur 3.
According to Mr Thomas, the heifer showed great potential for the future and had tremendous presence in the ring.
This entry was put forward by G G Baynes & Son, Marley Cote Walls, Hexham and is by Fradon Jet Red and out of Marleycote Fleur. She will be up for sale tomorrow in the after show auction.
Reserve place went to Rodway Tiny 253. Owned by Graham Madeley of Rodway Manor,
Her success comes after winning Champion Calf last year at the Holstein Show.
In the Guernseys, the sole entry in the Championship was Eavesford Onward Molly owned by G & E Fallows, Eavesford Farm,
In the final class of the day, the Holstein Junior Championship was dominated by Sahara Holsteins, Church Farm, Magor.
Taking the Championship title was Ridgefield Fortune Ash Angel, winner of the Holstein Senior Heifer class. She is by To-Mar D-Fortune and out of EO Siemers Ashlyns Angel and was bred by Groby Lodge Farm.
In reserve was another entry from Sahara Holsteins, Smiddiehill Goldwyn Dream, which had been placed second in the Holstein Senior Heifer class and is in calf to Million
She is by Braedale Goldwyn and out of Smiddiehill Mr Sam Dream and was purchase in March 2008 for 4900gns.
