NFSCo to be reviewed

STAKEHOLDERS ARE to review the performance of the National Fallen Stock Company over the next two months.

This was decided on Tuesday (April 26) at a meeting in London for stakeholders from the farming industry.

The aim of the review is to identify the causes of the problems farmers have experienced with the company’s services in some areas and to find ways to overcome the difficulties.

The review will be conducted by a group consisting of representatives from all the farming groups involved, including the National Sheep Association and the farmer unions in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Company chairman Michael Seals said: “We had a very constructive meeting where we all agreed that we need to look without preconceptions at what has happened so far.”

“We must identify the reasons why some areas have had big problems whereas things have worked well in others. Has it been down to infrastructure? Technology?”

“We must learn from what we have done so far, look for best practice and take things forward on that basis,” Mr Seals said.

Deadline for the review is by the end of June.
