Organic dairy dispersal sees 600 head go under the hammer

One of the largest on farm dairy dispersal sales to be held this year saw more than 600 head sold at GW Persey’s long established organic herd at Langlands Farm, Cullompton, Devon.

It took 7 hours and 70 purchasers from Cornwall, Pembrokeshire and Staffordshire to dispersal the 612 head with a top of 2,100gns being realised for an April 2nd calver. Third calvers sold to 2080gns. Calved heifers sold to 2000gns for a  Comestar Lofficiel daughter.

Incalf heifers due August to Crockett-Acres Eight and September to the homebred bull Langlands Storm topped at 1,600gns. Bulling heifers by Pursuit September Storm sold to 1,180gns with yearling heifers by La Presentation Denzel to 810gns x 2.
