Aberdeen and Northern Marts saw a centre record price for an OTM cow at the Thainstone Centre, Inverurie.

The previous Thainstone record was £2,030 set in February last year, which was also for a British Blue from Smallburn and also bought by Backmuir.

Sale auctioneer Alan Hutcheon said: “Our OTM trade has been really flying over the last few weeks with an incredible demand for quality beef cows, both from home trade and the export market.”
