Pig results from Royal Welsh Show
Here’s a catch up on the main results from the pig classes at the Welsh.
Leading the way in the Welsh classes was Mr and Mrs Tefi Evans and Son with their sow Goldfoot Lucky Girl 1211, a January 2007 so by Goldfoot Leo. Reserve championship went to P M Fowlie Braemor Daffodil, an august 2009-born gilt by Braemor Imperial.
It was a double championship in the Any Other Modern Breed section as Mr B Breck took the championship with his Large White 2009 born boar Portbredy prince 2112. Bred by Steve Lovelace, this one is by Portbredy Prince 1518 and is out of Portbredy Houri 1468. The same exhibitor also ook the reserve championship with a 2009-born Large White sow Prestleigh Beryl 17, by Portbredy champion Boy.
The British saddleback classes were won by M G W Trumper with a 2009-born sow Beiliau Dinah 6, by Beiliau Grand Duke. The reserve rosette went to Debarah Beeby with the February 2008-born Brydges Babble 391 by Endsleigh Viscount.
Heading up the Any Other Traditional Breed classes was Miss E Shankland’s Tamworth sow Shutevale Lucky Lass, bred by Nick Hunkin and by Bilquay Golden Ball. Reserve went to the Middle White gilt Pinehurst Fairlady 13th, by Gracebank Rajah.
