Egg packer LJ Fairburn ‘inspires Britain’

Lincolnshire egg packer LJ Fairburn has been included in a list of 1,000 companies that “inspire Britain” in a London Stock Exchange report celebrating small- to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).


Xavier Rolet, chief executive officer of the London Stock Exchange Group said it was these companies that drove job creation, and described them as of “exceptional importance to UK economic growth”.


“More needs to be done to nurture, support and encourage these companies, many of which are poised to be the blue chips of tomorrow,” he added.


The report says there are more than 4.5m SME businesses of this type in the UK.

LJ Fairburn said it was positive growth in revenue, increasing employee numbers and “major new contract wins” that secured the plaudit.
