Bernard Matthews dominates at annual turkey awards

 

Everyone deserves a little recognition now and again

But turkey producer Bernard Matthews might have been trying just a little too hard at the recent British Turkey Awards, held at the prestigious Dorchester Hotel in London.

The company had already enjoyed a bit of success as the 13 awards for things like “Best Meal Solution” and “Best Food Service – Cost Sector” were reeled off.

But then presenter for the evening, comedian Mark Watson, got to the “Best Food Service – Profit Sector”. And the three finalists were (drum roll):

“Frozen turkey paupiettes with pork, chestnut, sage and onion stuffing”, from Bernard Matthews.

And “Frozen cooked boneless turkey breast saddle”, from. Bernard Matthews.

 

 

In what was surely the shock outcome of the evening, the category winner was declared as…. Bernard Matthews (for its paupiettes, whatever they might be).
