Pigeons in the loft
Pigeons have been something of a recurring theme for the Feathered Forager – well, they’ve appeared three times, here and here and here.
They have also featured in the pages of Poultry World, as part of our Alternative Enterprise special. This is how they farm them in France:
But it’s not just the French that farm pigeons. A Spanish friend sent us these fantastic old shots of “adobe” pigeon lofts in central Spain. Made with a mix of straw and mud, the “palomares” are part of the cultural heritage of the region.
