Splash of colour invigorates egg counter
The egg counter at the average British supermarket is often criticised for its lack of “retail theatre”.
Industry commentator Prof David Hughes once described it as “the boredom zone”, where people might hang out for some quiet introspection. Brands, where they exist, can lack imagination and impact.
Not so in sunny Majorca, where The Forager was delighted to discover this offering of coloured eggs, designed to entice even the most downtrodden shopper.
What he failed to notice, however, was that they were already cooked, and a second five minute boiling did little to enhance their flavour or appeal.
