Honorary professorship for well-known poultry vet

Minster Veterinary Practice poultry director Michael Clark has been made an honorary associate professor of poultry medicine at the School of Veterinary Medicine and Science, University of Nottingham.

Minster Vets has been closely linked with the Nottingham Veterinary School since its inception in 2006, providing teaching in poultry medicine and production to veterinary undergraduates.

This includes a final-year rotation at the company’s laboratory in Sutton Bonington.

Mr Clark was made a special lecturer in poultry medicine in 2007 in recognition of his role in developing and delivering the poultry curriculum, and was awarded an MBA from the university in 2011.

More recently, he has helped develop postgraduate courses for poultry producers and vets, which will launch later this year.

Minster Vets already employs two Nottingham vet school graduates, and will be taking on another one shortly.

In recognition of these developments, the dean of the School of Veterinary Medicine and Science has appointed Mr Clark an honorary associate professor.
