New website for World Egg Day

The International Egg Commission is launching a multi-lingual website to help promote the benefits of eggs to consumers, health advisors and nutritionists around the world.
The launch is linked to the annual World Egg Day, which this year will be celebrated on Friday 12 October.
“As an industry we feel very privileged to be producing a product that can benefit so many people,” said IEC chairman, Joanne Ivy. “This new World Egg Day website is part of our industry’s on-going work to spread the message internationally, educating people about the nutritional benefits of eating eggs.”

Globally, more than one billion people are underfed and undernourished, and the IEC believes it has a role to play in countering this.
With the help of the IEC, the international egg industry has pledged to work with the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organisation, to help to feed the world’s growing population and make eggs available to everyone.
The new World Egg Day website is available in 10 languages: English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Polish, Hindi and Russian.
